Age UK Southampton, Alzheimer’s Society, Carers in Southampton and Age Concern New Forest are working together to run a free dementia awareness event next month for those with dementia, their carers and families and anyone wanting to find out more about the support available across Southampton and New Forest.

The event has been kindly sponsored by John Lewis in West Quay.

This free and informal event will provide attendees with a wide range of information and specific advice on living with dementia and provide an opportunity to speak to staff and volunteers from the four charities on how they might be able to help with specific situations. A buffet lunch and quiz will also be provided.

Location: Totton & District Three Score Club, Library Road, Totton, SO40 3RS
Date: Friday 16th September
Time: 12pm-3pm

The venue is fully accessible and free parking is available on site.

Whilst a free event, booking is essential through Phil Williams at Age UK Southampton by phone 023 8036 8636 or email phil.williams@ageuksouthampton.org.uk

Phil Williams, Health & Wellbeing Development Officer at Age UK Southampton said: “The topic of dementia can be a confusing one to deal with. Whether you’ve been diagnosed yourself or support someone with dementia, it is always worth being aware of what local support can be provided. The aim of this event is to help promote that support and I’m delighted that the four charities have been able to work together to make this important event happen.”
