Councillors biography
Alexis McEvoy is married to Mick and together they have run the Langley Village Restaurant since 1981. They have one son of whom they are both very proud and who serves in the Royal fleet Auxiliary.

Alexis was Fawley’s County Councillor from 1997 to 2001. In 1998 she graduated from the Open University with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree, specialising in Politics and International Studies.

Whilst serving as a Hampshire County Councillor, Alexis gained experience on the Education Committee including its Schools Monitoring and Youth Services Sub-Committees. She was also a member of the Planning and Transportation Committee including its Public Transport Sub-Committee.

Alexis particularly enjoyed her membership of the Recreation and Heritage committee where she was Chairman of the Sports and Community Panel, which took a close and supportive role in Calshot Activities Centre. Alexis also gained experience by serving on the Rights of Way Panel and the Archives Panel, which enabled her to further her close interest in Hampshire’s countryside and its history.

Alexis’ immense experience gained on these committees was added to by her membership of the Southern Sea Fisheries Committee, Foxlease Management Committee, the Community Health Council and her Directorship of Youth Clubs Hampshire and Isle of Wight as well as Chairing the Solent Sea Rescue Organisation. Currently, Alexis is a Governor at Brockenhurst College and is a member of the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Activities Centre, an Ambassador for Girl Guiding at Foxlease and a Trustee of the Reece Trust.

Alexis was co-opted onto Fawley Parish Council in May 2003 and is currently a member of the Policy, Resources and Personnel Committee.
